I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. [Gal 2:20]

Outward marks are often deceptive. The clever Christian, the one who excels in fluent praying or vigorous preaching, or the one who can answer all theological questions, is not necessarily a disciple. Nor is it necessarily the one who has sold everything, down to the last shirt, in an act of "true discipleship." These things of themselves do not draw us close to God. But God draws near, the scripture says, "into them that are of a broken heart, and saveth them that are of a contrite spirit."
Hunger for reality, George Verwer.

God has been so good to me, I need to write this down so I don't forget.
I am thankful that I did not get the job at catch music, turned down the job at subway (and if i got turned down for any other jobs that i applied for along the way, I also thank God for those)
I am thankful that I didn't get those jobs because I got to work in Rocky Bay as a disability support worker! Not saying that those jobs are bad or what, but Rocky Bay was instrumental in helping me with familiarising with working with people with disabilities and communicating, which is a big thing for me as I'm usually quite reserved. And all these skills are relevant to my future work as an occupational therapist, which is evident now at placement! I don't have to worry as much about getting nervous talking to patients/ building rapport because the worrying has been done and dealt with last year :D
I am thankful that even though I never exactly did too well and on a couple of events failed my units, I knew that Occupational Therapy was the course I wanted to do and that I would not choose any other course, which of course did a great deal in helping me keep doing what I was doing. I'm thankful for Glenna my mentor.. part of the reason why I knew that OT existed. The other part would obviously be God being the silent hand guiding my life path even before I knew what it meant to surrender my life decisions to Him.
I am thankful that even though I haven't been the brightest nor the most diligent student, probably best described as passive, slow, sleepy, like a fly on the wall that hands in late assignments that makes her parents go crazy, this placement year, the year that i've been looking forward to since first year, albeit draining, has been met with many encouragements. My beautifully spaced out placements: Block 1 and 2, break on block 3, then Block 4 and 5, viva, block 6 off (which means early end to my uni life!). My wonderful range of placement types - cognitive rehab, home rehab, paeds and disability in resource poor environment: Cambodia, mental health. They are good to transition from block 1 to the last placement block as the first one is well known to be easy going and cruisy, and that prepared me for my current hospital placement which isn't as demanding as expected since im in the home rehab team. I thank God for my pleasant supervisors in my previous and current placements and sweet and wonderful clients/patients that have been very kindly responsive to me.
I thank God that despite my busyness and inadequacy, God still takes care of me and has proved it to me through positive and encouraging feedback. And as Aunty M prayed for me tonight, one thing that I should really learn is to know what I need to hold on tight to when I feel out of whack. My time with God has been greatly compromised, and it has been a trend whenever I get busy. How am I trusting God with my time and my life when I am refusing to let go of my own control? Aren't I just being a great big hypocrite?

take my advice.
DO NOT volunteer for things you are not keen/have no time to do in the first place.
maannnnn why was i so geh kiang )):
NO TURNING BACK, NO TURNING BACK
oh assignments... can't wait for that day to bid farewell to you.
I realised how unfit I've become in my recent jogs with my dad (probably 1 or 2 times in the past 3 months. 1 other time was cycling hahahah). it becomes a brisk walk and then unconsciously a stroll within less than 10 minutes.
here i was, alive and kicking with energy to bite that strap and show some teeth after running 12 km, in 2010.
Contemplating if I should do that again, but anyhows for a start, i'm finding thirty each day of my placement and walking home! LIKE A TRUE BLUE AUNTIE, I SHALL POWER WALK MY WAY HOME.
