i had a pimple in my left ear and i got rid of it
the next day i had a pimple in my right ear and its still here. :O

so the highlight of the week was definitely lc retreat during the weekend that has just passed! still recovering from a week's worth of lack of sleep right now haha but really, thank God for His sustenance and providence :)

- there was kristi who dropped by to collect her book and gave me bbt to keep me awake in the days prior when i had to chiong assignment
- there was muimui who lovingly volunteered to help me clean up the house to prepare for retreat :D
- there was cheryl who prayed for me at maccas at the night of the retreat and came to join us in our discussions
- there was aunty carol who brought fried rice and hid it in the fridge so we wont be tempted until dinner time, and providing great advice on different issues and teaching us about olive trees :) jesus' cross was made from the olive tree!
- there was ben who came to help and support us
- there was patrick who came to show us his and maxwin's matching tie hahaha
- there was puan who came during her spare time to help us with discussions n helped us feel less stressed

there was pretty east perth, plenty of honeyjoys, french toast, pancakes, late night talks and giggles, youtube imitations, interesting discussions and lots of bonding :D

gogogo a-teamo-supremo! i love you all! let's continue to follow Christ's leadership and be united in our vision!

today for prayer meet we shared about someone that we took for granted.
i take so many people and things for granted.
so easily.

The Missionary’s Predestined Purpose

Now the Lord says, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant . . . —Isaiah 49:5

The first thing that happens after we recognize our election by God in Christ Jesus is the destruction of our preconceived ideas, our narrow-minded thinking, and all of our other allegiances— we are turned solely into servants of God’s own purpose. The entire human race was created to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. Sin has diverted the human race onto another course, but it has not altered God’s purpose to the slightest degree. And when we are born again we are brought into the realization of God’s great purpose for the human race, namely, that He created us for Himself. This realization of our election by God is the most joyful on earth, and we must learn to rely on this tremendous creative purpose of God. The first thing God will do is force the interests of the whole world through the channel of our hearts. The love of God, and even His very nature, is introduced into us. And we see the nature of Almighty God purely focused in

John 3:16 — "For God so loved the world. . . ."

We must continually keep our soul open to the fact of God’s creative purpose, and never confuse or cloud it with our own intentions. If we do, God will have to force our intentions aside no matter how much it may hurt. A missionary is created for the purpose of being God’s servant, one in whom God is glorified. Once we realize that it is through the salvation of Jesus Christ that we are made perfectly fit for the purpose of God, we will understand why Jesus Christ is so strict and relentless in His demands. He demands absolute righteousness from His servants, because He has put into them the very nature of God.

Beware lest you forget God’s purpose for your life

as a substitute for my current bbt/boost juice craving, i dug out this tub of ice cream that has been waiting patiently in my freezer for months since i last ate out of it. i was glad to see it only expires in december :D but when i read the 95% fat free, i don't know if it's believable.. and and and... i just finished it... :O but if you think about it.. eating a quarter tub of ice cream = 250 ml of ice cream = 250 ml milkshake. its like a normal cup of drink. and its 95% fat free. if they're tellling the truth. hahaha.

i hope more people move to east perth so i can find more makan buddies hehehe. i know some ppl that are in east perth already + some that may be moving.. YAY. i better help them look out for rents at the beginning of the year and make sure they become my neighbours.

oh my it's quite funny. but with that said, it reminded me of Jesus' teaching regarding narrow and wide gates.

it is a constant struggle we are facing in this world. to choose something that gratifies the human nature/desire OR to choose something that pleases God. to be "ONE of them" or "ONE with God". to be accepted by culture or do things accepted by God. recent experiences/witnessing of encounters has reminded me of different lives people can choose to live.

one who doesn believe in Christ may think that we are absolutely out of our minds/ weird/ eccentric when they hear that

- Dr Omar Djoeandy chose to be a missionary whose income was dependent on love offerings from the church, spending most of his time in run down countries preaching and teaching people about God when he could have a) inheritted his family business, b) worked as a doctor and earn big bucks - afterall, isn't that what the 6 years of mugging in university was for?

- Christians choose to go to church every Sunday instead of sleeping in/partying late from saturday night

- some choices we make in life aren't for the sake of being able to lead a good, well-to-do life, luxurious, wealthy, comfortable, free, successful, popular, legendary etc.

Christ is the reason for all the choices we make in life. and it is because of the gospel that we want to do all these things!

when sin entered the world, it separated man from God, because God is perfect and holy.

but God loves His people and wants us to be reunited with Him, spend eternal life with Him,

so because the wages of sin is death, Jesus came to earth and lived as a man, faced trials and temptations, showing the perfect example of love for the Father and love for people. He received the punishment that we deserved so that our sins were forgiven, our debts were paid for when He hung on that cross with nails in his hands and feet. He died. but 3 days later He rose again, overcoming death and sin. whoever believes in Christ and accepts Christ into his/her life acknowledges what He'd done out of His love for us and accepts this gift of salvation.

This is grace. something that we don't deserve or earn. it is a gift from God. it is not through good works that we get to heaven, but through Christ's death on the cross that our sins are forgiven and we can go to heaven. and it is because of that love we are given that we are compelled to do the things we do.

Luke 9

23Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. 25What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self? 26If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. 27I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God."

so my first week of my term in OCF curtin LC has begun and is almost ending. haven''t really done much other than prepare for worship and send emails and praying and planning for meetings.. but i thank God for an amazing team. it's amazing how God brings people with such different personalities together, and im excited already :)

i'm still doing some stuff as perth's ex mission rep but as lenard mentioned we shouldn just be dumping our portfolios into the hands of the new LC members and expect them to do everything without a clue about the past events.. not that yans and ah coln won't do a good job (because they are capable passionate meddies who are ever ready to serve God!) BUT OH WELLS :D I LIKE DOING THE STUFF THAT I WAS GIVEN TO DO HEEHEEHEE.

i feel so blessed to be able to be part of it even though im now in ocf curtin because it's such an encouragement reading the testimonies of fellow brothers in Christ, listening to the enthusiastic responses of people HEHEHE

AND to be able to be part of the take home gift production team! MEET THE TEAM... of.. 2! with the goal of completing 20 bookmarks in one evening, each one given much attention and thought, handmade with tender loving care even when ink smudges on our hands or superglue sticks to our fingers like superglues do, prayed over so that God may use it to bless it's blessed and loved owner-to-be :D

TADA!!! despite the sore knees/hands/fried brains/superglued fingers/aching neck, it was a joyful experience and a good break from school work!

oh and i have something to confess. i didn just go to curtin to study OT. i did vet in murdoch too. and i just graduated tonight.. see...

n last sem i graduated from canning college but i shared my degree with sara so we had to share a regalia too hurhurhur.

i wish man.. i've got 3 more years! WEEEEE. this was chuanbee, hazel and yingxian's graduation :)

it seems as though monsters are throwing themselves at my windows.

if i had no assignment to do, i would be outside, tying myself to pieces of cardboard and attempting to fly.

because if you do it by yourself, people say you have a problem

but if you do it with your friend, people say you're having fun

although i would think that over the years, i've grown to accept doing things alone and being less conscious of what i think people think of me, im not ready to look like a loony oversized chicken by myself. yet.

with more assignments and crazy deadlines to meet, maybe soon.

but then again its not all bad. it's during these times i have a reason to stay home in bad weather, i get txt msgs and calls from sara to encourage me on. i get msn msgs from haniksha to tell me i can do it. i get alanna sitting next to me in izone making me laugh at her silliness. i get car rides and catch up chit chats and snacks (if she brings any) from christie. i get to smile at bek's forever-amused-and-happy greetings. i get a doughnut from kelvin who's so professional at getting it from the free breakfast table. i get to huddle with kate cus its cold. i get to listen to howard's attempts at making cheesecake and hoping that one day he'll actually bring something for me to eat. i get to indulge in european hot choc. i get to eat 2 for 1 pasta with garlic bread and play connect the dots and figure out which strand of pasta leads to chef-i-duno-whats-his-name with sara and discuss how they cooked the pasta (conclusion: they dipped it in butter and sprinkled ham pieces on it) and drink $1 milkshakes.

i think about the months of dreading uni at the end of year 12, afraid i wouldn't make any friends and bombarding glenna with questions here there everywhere and get freaked out and dread uni even more..and i look at it now... and i realise how blessed i am indeed :)

and thats just a piece of ham out of the whole plate of pasta of blessings that God has showered upon me.

i hate it when dodgy people peepee in the carpark staircase in northbridge. its so difficult to hold your breath and climb up the stairs from level G to level 2 and realise you are actually on level 3 so you breathed in peepee unneccessarily for a period of time. and i dont understand why there's peepee smell on every level.. :(

i did pray for a sister when i was young, because i wanted to be able to tie my sister's hair

God probably had other plans, because many times i dreaded tying your hair. mummy had to plead me to tie your hair. BECAUSE YOU NEVER COMBED YOUR HAIR. i dont comb my hair either. but you monkey, always hopping around rolling here and there with your super long and fine hair, it'll always get tangled so quickly. it takes two people and a bottle of johnsons kids strawberry anti-tangles spray to get your hair combed and tied up INTO A PONY TAIL. every time i try to do something fancy, you take it off :(

but yes. gift from God :)

finally we get to meet geri n sean in milan!

and we started reminiscing about 2006 when we first set foot in perth.. and cried our heads off in smags the first few weeks.. our first bs group.. geri and sean's 1st month celebration which did not seem very long ago but in fact, it was very long ago.. how we used to call glenna our chauffeur but now we both drive.. yet, some things are still the same :)

here we are in our favourite potatosacks and maroon accessories to match the ugliness of it all. ahaha. those were the days.. when it was impossible to protract your arms and stretch them forward because u were sitting on your dress, when your shoes were so huge u trip over them every 50 steps, your teacher/principal convinced you that you looked smart in the school hat, you jumped down slippery slides and rolled down grassy hills and then regret when your arms and legs got itchy from the prickly grass, when you had to remain vigilant when you shower in case the shower curtains flew for some reason, where you had to control your poo because it was a shared toilet so everyone would know that it was you creating all that smell... either that or you stay inside till everyone's gone.

and after your nightly brush teeth gatherings with your lovely neighbours, strut/march/tiptoe/walk en pointe and hug each other goodnight at each other's doors. and every night hannah scolds geri for bending down to hug her (reminding her of her shortness.. which isn't short at all but oh wells :))
