1Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
4But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled. 7For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
it's so easy to slack off and be sloppy in the things that we do. take our own sweet time. leave important things to tomorrow and then tomorrow again and again. what if Christ returned tomorrow? will you be ready to account for what you have done in your life?

after neuropsych lec yesterday, i concluded that i have ADHD minus the hyperactivity because im a bum. ADD?

its beach weather in oz once again! :D and i realised i havent been to the beach to swim in perth. AT ALL. its been like what.. 4 years? what's going on!!! (1st 2 years my parents decided not to sign the beach permission form from the boarding house.) the other 2... i dont know. always so full of excuses. i see a trend somewhere here.
but its homework time its homework time. ITS HOMEWORK TIME

1. i need to be more appreciative & grateful
2. i need to say more things that build people up
3. i need to be bold and step out of my bubble
God, i know you're moulding me.
sometimes its weird. when the person you think you'd have so much to share with feels so distant. when your patience runs low and expectations go rocket high, when a small issue makes you flare up, when you know you ought to sit down and pray with that person, but you don't know what to say.. and love seems to run low. when you cant help but compare yourself with that person, be annoyed and feel inferior.. the crack appears and slowly but surely it widens. and then we drift. what am i supposed to be learning from this, God?

i had a pimple in my left ear and i got rid of it
the next day i had a pimple in my right ear and its still here. :O
so the highlight of the week was definitely lc retreat during the weekend that has just passed! still recovering from a week's worth of lack of sleep right now haha but really, thank God for His sustenance and providence :)
- there was kristi who dropped by to collect her book and gave me bbt to keep me awake in the days prior when i had to chiong assignment
- there was muimui who lovingly volunteered to help me clean up the house to prepare for retreat :D
- there was cheryl who prayed for me at maccas at the night of the retreat and came to join us in our discussions
- there was aunty carol who brought fried rice and hid it in the fridge so we wont be tempted until dinner time, and providing great advice on different issues and teaching us about olive trees :) jesus' cross was made from the olive tree!
- there was ben who came to help and support us
- there was patrick who came to show us his and maxwin's matching tie hahaha
- there was puan who came during her spare time to help us with discussions n helped us feel less stressed
there was pretty east perth, plenty of honeyjoys, french toast, pancakes, late night talks and giggles, youtube imitations, interesting discussions and lots of bonding :D
gogogo a-teamo-supremo! i love you all! let's continue to follow Christ's leadership and be united in our vision!

The Missionary’s Predestined Purpose
Now the Lord says, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant . . . —Isaiah 49:5
The first thing that happens after we recognize our election by God in Christ Jesus is the destruction of our preconceived ideas, our narrow-minded thinking, and all of our other allegiances— we are turned solely into servants of God’s own purpose. The entire human race was created to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. Sin has diverted the human race onto another course, but it has not altered God’s purpose to the slightest degree. And when we are born again we are brought into the realization of God’s great purpose for the human race, namely, that He created us for Himself. This realization of our election by God is the most joyful on earth, and we must learn to rely on this tremendous creative purpose of God. The first thing God will do is force the interests of the whole world through the channel of our hearts. The love of God, and even His very nature, is introduced into us. And we see the nature of Almighty God purely focused in
John 3:16 — "For God so loved the world. . . ."
We must continually keep our soul open to the fact of God’s creative purpose, and never confuse or cloud it with our own intentions. If we do, God will have to force our intentions aside no matter how much it may hurt. A missionary is created for the purpose of being God’s servant, one in whom God is glorified. Once we realize that it is through the salvation of Jesus Christ that we are made perfectly fit for the purpose of God, we will understand why Jesus Christ is so strict and relentless in His demands. He demands absolute righteousness from His servants, because He has put into them the very nature of God.
