how scary is it that while hundreds of thousands of individuals on one side of the world suffers from massive destruction, pain, loss, hopelessness, hunger, hurt, chaos, darkness, here i am sitting comfortably on my couch smelling nice from my bath, surfing the net, blogging, drinking a cup of carrot juice, chatting, laughing with my sister and thinking of how im going to holland v to meet my friends tomorrow night...

while orphans as young as 15months old are given numbers instead of names and health providers have no idea what to do with them seeing that there's lots more victims requiring attention, here i am, complaining that my dad is annoying whenever he comes to sayang me, being sulky when my parents get overprotective and don't allow me to go learn diving..

how often do we actually think about whether the Haitians need help and how we can play our part? how is it that we can remain emotionally ignorant to their plight when they're at their greatest need.. instead, being caught up with trivial matters of life? while they struggle to survive, we stuff ourselves silly with breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper, complaining that we've eaten too much/put on too much weight...

even as efforts turn towards aid and rescue, it is evident that man are all imperfect and incapable of creating foolproof solutions. there's a limit to what each of us can do.. but remember Christ who has been jealously guarding our relationship with Him. Christ who died for us out of love, Christ who heals and reconciles, Christ the Prince of Peace, above all powers. As we admit the powerlessness of mankind, let's commit the lives of the Haitians to God in prayer, because we know that He is far greater than any power in this world, and He's always been listening (:
