i've always been an obedient girl. believe it or not, i have been and i still am. i listen and do what i've been told.

be this.

be that.

do this.

do that.

and then i find myself doing this, being that, doing that, being this.


you cant do this

you shouldn do that

dont go there


and i realise that sometimes i dont exactly have a reason for agreeing to those requests. because im used to doing what ive been told to do. well i probably do have my reasons. but i've no initiative and my favourite hobby is waiting for things to happen.

if noone does, i'll most likely spend the whole day at home, in front of the computer, eating whatever snacks i see around the house, and realise that its bedtime.

gosh.my locus of control is so externalised no wonder im depressed.

i need change. i need structure. i need discipline. i need brains and motivation. i need time. i need a retreat!


a beach nice and quiet, crystal clear waters, soft white sand.. sparkly in the sun.

sigh. God help me..

Pastor Graham showed us this photo during sermon today, of JFK and JFK Jr playing with his toy horsey in the Oval Office of the White House. "The Oval Office is the president's formal workspace, where he confers with heads of state, diplomats, his staff, and other dignitaries; where he often addresses the American public and the world on television or radio; and where he deals with the issues of the day." It isn't a place where anyone can just knock and enter and sit around as and when he likes to. People who enter have to actually be formally invited and probably go through many other people/planning/procedures before they reach the president. JFK Jr (at that time) wasn't a powerful man.. he was not a representative of any countries or whatsoever but he was allowed access into the office as and when he liked to. He did not have to receive formal invitations and go through different people or procedures. That was his privilege as JFK's son. It wasn't something that he had earned. It was a privilege GIVEN to him.

God has CHOSEN us to be His children, because He loves us. What does that mean to you?

school's really interesting albeit taxing and draining sometimes.. but if i think about it hard enough, it really is enjoyable =) and im glad i've found friends =D. i got my new phone!! yay he's my handsome handphone and his name's bruce. ehehehe. this waking up early thing's so tiring. it keeps giving me heart attacks in the morning cus of my heart attack alarm clock. but i hope it makes me sleep earlier. i think doing work in the morning is good because its quiet and my mind isnt distracted by anything that has happened (because so far, the only things that would have happened would be me brushing my teeth and eating.). so yea.

on the other hand, im excited for the phone to come! ive switched to three postpaid and i chose a sony ericsson C702 in black =)
its not a pretty phone but it would do.. i think it has a not bad camera and it has some kind of GPS so hiphurray come quick come quick!

bible study's starting this friday and im looking forward to seeing my new group members for 2009 =D we're gonna be doing thessalonians! (which we've done in convy and i've asked glenna if we could do that book for discipleship as well hahahaha) woo im gonna memorise that whole book by the end of it all! welcome night last week was amazing =) we had 50+ ppl turn up altogether, of which, 25 of them were freshies! what's even better, they are willing to join us for bible studies and some non christians are willing to join our discovery group where they learn more about Christianity and Christ Jesus =D God is indeed amazing!

I've also been trying to keep up a healthy wake up early exercise sleep early lifestyle which has sort of been working out except for the sleep early bit. but im sure that'll change. =) HEALTHY !HEALTHY! FRUITS AND VEGIES!

bah. so many things have happened, so many things are happening.. i just dont know where to start and what to mention. but meh. sleep time! toodles.

that's probably something that i'm finding hard to do right now. somehow i feel more and more like martha than mary. i've been missing the big point, rushing through each day as it comes like clockwork, havent got the chance to reflect. Getting annoyed about things beyond my control even though its for my own good.. somehow. anyways, i havent been rejoicing in a long while, havent prayed as often, haven't been Christ-centred. i guess these verses were God's reminders to me in the form of a bookmark (just sticking out randomly from nowhere) and a calendar flippy thing =) how interesting =)

today was a good day =) well actually.. this week has been a good week!
and im really happy! cus i thought i'd be feeling very sian, but surprisingly im not!


how amazing.. thank God for that! because i have another new year resolution (other than learning to be selfless)- learn to be POSITIVE!



=)) been up and about doing lots of publicity stuff like banners n posters n what have yous, preparing for orientation day, welcome night and amazing race. mygoodness, it has been totally hectic yet enjoyable!
im sleepy so i'l let the photos talk...

so basically that's partly what i've been up to. went to curtin for orientation today and a sentence just kept replaying itself in my mind "im gna die im gna die im gna die" haha it looks so tough and its going to be really busy. BUT IM SO GLAD TO BE BACK! (amazing right?) before this i was lying to myself when i said school's gna be exciting. but today i was really happy to see everyone after so long =)) and i finally got the chance to vaccuum the house in the arvo!

i joined kristi for dinner with uncle alvin today. im so glad we went! uncle alvin is so inspiring and wise and funny, it made me think about lots of things.

it was a meaningful day =) im tired. gnight!

saturday's baking with esther, yanyan, josh n berts was productive although it was VERY LONG n it was driving all of us nuts.. causing berts to talk to bread and do weird dances to barney's mr sun song HAHA. but the breads were lovely =) well most of them.( we bought home the ugly ones hehhee.) and esther and family (including bruno their dog) were very nice and hospitable =D the oven was very friendly too and it worked hard non stop for like 8-9 hours!!

and thanks to esther, we now know how to make fruit loaves n cheese buns n sausage buns!



and sale was good =) thank you for the orders, purchases! we managed to raise $1000+ from the sales (including the cost price)

we had a prayer meet today and josh's sharing + all the praying reminded me of something more. this fundraising has shown us more than the money that has been raised, but also the love and support of the people around as and most of all, God's hands working to make this camp a successful one =)
i must say, i'm really touched that people were willing to pay $2 for the tiny buns (sorry i didn't know they'd turn out so tiny) and loaves and cakes as well.. pastors and people from church who allowed us to sell the stuff in church and helped us publicise it in the service, offered advice and showed much support =) the aunties and uncles who came to buy the food even though the prices might have scared you..the youths who came.. even by standing at the stall and looking at the things we have to sell, you guys have encouraged me and shown me support! and making the choice to buy the bread for $2 was also very encouraging! (because im a very kiam person and i like to make every single cent worth it) thank you for being so generous!
i'll go find out the recipes if any of u are interested so lemme know =)

and then there's the people that donated money/ paid more than the total price. thank you thank you for your generosity! we've now got more than 2/3 of the amount that we're going to raise and it has only been 3 weeks since we started on our fundraising! thank you and thank God!

God is really amazing! we might be getting Tony Anthony to come speak at camp! the story goes like this.. OCF invited Tony Anthony(an evangelist) to come speak to us on the 24th April 09, but someone suddenly had an idea of getting him to speak for Easter Camp (10th-13th April 09) and amazingly, he has a free slot on the 11th, at the time which we had planned to do a workshop thing and were looking for speakers to come in for! so it all fits perfectly =D

i had an exciting realisation today which made me feel super stupid.
bus 27 goes from sengkang to changi airport in around 30-45mins!!!
D= WHY NEVER TELL ME EARLIER!!! devoo......
the last time i tried to take a shortcut to the airport by bus instead of train, i ended up taking over an hour to arrive!!! i took 80 from sengkang to serangoon, then 53 from serangoon to changi. omg SO GEH KIANG! i was nodding my head off and i bet it was ready to fall out n roll out of the bus anytime. and i was apologising like mad to ivan and howard when i reached la. oh my goodness. long bus rides are so... ugh. my eyelids cant stop shutting and i feel my bum expanding and getting pressure sores man.

AND AND AND.. the mrt stop reaches all 3 terminals in changi airport!! OMG! SinCE WHEn! HOW COME I DUnO! D=

ANYWAY, GOD PLEASE BLESS OUR BAKESALE! WE HAVE A MILLION THINGS TO BAKE WITH A TINY OVEN AND 6 PAIRS OF HANDS AND ONE DAY ONLY!

BAKESALE!!!! this bakesale thing is part of easter camp fundraising for OCF. we're aiming to raise $3k and yes it is a big sum esp when we're all still students, SO, EVERY BREAD COUNTS. seeseesee, they're really good for breakfast, if u have no time to cook lunch, u can buy this, if u dont wanna eat too much for dinner, u can eat this, if u are hungry at night, u can get this for supper. u can have it for tea.. WOW! and vday is coming. ur valentine will get sick of chocolates, so.. GET THESE BUNS/LOAVES! hehehehehe. please let me know if u wanna get some by thursday please! i was just wondering how it would have felt/ how it feels giving birth.. contractions, epidurals, drips, lethargy, having half of ur body numb... o.0 how scary's that. i'l be happy hugging kids in a childcare centre. hahahaa for now at least.




ive said it a million times but i still cant stop saying this, but time really seriously flies. TIME FLIES. koochiwoochie little babies i used to see in church now have hair on their heads and can talk, sing, run, read.. its weird. especially when u only come back once in 6 months. my baby sister whose head used to smell like durian (in a nice way. cus i liked it. normally i dont like durians), has feet bigger than mine and is almost my height. and with the passing of time, comes ageing. with ageing, comes adulthood. with adulthood, comes responsibility. thank goodness my age still ends with a teen. but still.. what does the future hold for us? *breaks into a song: QUE SERA SERA!!! whatever will be will be.. the future's not us to see... qUE sera sera.. what will be will be!*




soon enough, i'll be graduating and working.. but there's all these decisions to make.. to stay or not to stay, to be or not to be, to join or not to join.. are they pleasing to God? will i choose what I want over what God wants? no wonder aunties insist on being called jiejies. they want to think that they're still young and carefree. ahahah.
