I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. [Gal 2:20]

the flubug's hopping round and everyone's coughing and getting the sniffles... thank God for tissue companies that invent new ways of making new types of tissue paper.. KLEENEX SILK TOUCH! omg hahahah. i dont know if you all had this experience but when u have a runny nose and keep wiping your nose with the tissue, it starts to hurt after a while BUT GUESS WHAT! KLEENEX SILK TOUCH DOESNT! HAHAHA COOLNESS MANZZZ im so happy with my tissues right now :D
yesterday was quite eventful.. made french toast for brunch at sylvia's, groc shopping at karrawarra, went to the OT clinic with mui2, went to hannah's auntie's house for dinner and watched SMAG's musical- The Boyfriend. i think it's the best production by SMAGS so far! and the french accent was so cute and convincing! over dinner, hannah's lil cousin, dale, was checking out his new glasses and it was completely hilarious. a whole half an hour, he was putting on his glasses and taking them off and kept saying how amazing that everything's so clear. i miss small conversations like that round the dinner table.. reminiscing bout first day at school, crying in class.. haha.
watched a vid in class today. it was an old interview with a young guy who has schizophrenia. one thing that i remembered most was when he mentioned he was walking/driving one day and started having a panic attack and didnt know where he was, what he was doing.. feeling lost and confused.. then he saw a policeman in a police car (trustworthy in his opinion.. because with schizophrenia, sometimes they start getting paranoid that everyone's against them) and he went to him for help: "excuse me sir, im having a panic attack, i dont know where i am, could you help me please" but all the police said was "you've got to sober up son, get your act together" or smth along those lines.. then he wandered around a neighbourhood and decided to enter a house. knocked on the door, woman answered the door, steve explained his case again "excuse me mdm, i don't mean to scare you but im having a panic attack, could you please help me and calm me down? or give me a glass of water?" and the woman did so and managed to calm him down. isnt this just like the good samaritan? i used to think it was easy or common sense even, to offer help to those who need it.. but what are the chances of me opening the door to a victim of a panic attack randomly, especially when you've grown up being told not to talk to strangers/let strangers into your house in case they turn out to be murderers or whatever.. which one would you choose to be?

Praise the Lord! this semester has been beautiful so far and i can see it continuing to be so :)
despite some changes in plans and farewells which i've always disliked, this time i'm excited to move from ocf perth to ocf curtin. not that i don't like ocf perth, because i really do love them and i bet i'll be missing them heaps, but i guess a change in environment is always good. being in a fresh place, looking at things from different perspectives, meeting new people, learning from them and serving wherever God's decided for me to go..
i'm also happy with school because i think all the units are really meaningful and geared towards where my passion lies.. listening to lecturers and other OTs speak these few weeks, im feeling more confident that this is really really something that's on my heart, something that i'll find fulfilment in as a job in the future. if this fails, i dont mind being a firefighter!
lalala. one more thing! im signing up for city to surf- 12km! hahahahahahaha oh man i hope i finish it in one piece. but its turning out great (not the training bit).. its giving me opportunities to talk to freshies/catch up with friends etc etc so im liking it so far =D
OKAY I LIKE TO DO READINGS BYEBYE SQUATTIEEE

EQUALITY? what did people with disabilities do to deserve different treatment?
You reside.
I am a resident.
You move in.
I am admitted.
You may be rude.
I have a behavior problem.
You make up your own mind.
I am non-compliant.
When I go to the restaurant with someone it is an outing.
For you, it is a date.
I don't know how many people write about me or look at my file.
You get mad if someone peeks at your journal.
I make mistakes during my check writing program and a meeting is called.
You make a checking error and the bank calls with a reminder.
I am told not to talk to strangers.
You met your spouse while grocery shopping.
I celebrated my birthday with five other residents and two staff.
You had a surprise party thrown by your family and friends.
I have a report written about me each month which is read by my parents. Sometimes it says what I am doing wrong.
You get letters from family and friends.
I am on a special diet because I am five pounds above my ideal weight.
You are planning to go on a diet, some day.
I have my room inspected every day.
You clean up once a week, if there is time.
I have a goal to learn leisure skills.
You are a couch potato!
I may have enough money at the end of the week to go get a hamburger.
You eat out often because you hate to cook.
I have a case manager, psychologist, social worker, nurse, OT, PT, nutritionist and teaching staff who set goals for me every year.
You are still trying to find yourself.
I will be discharged someday......maybe.
You will move onward and upward.

My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers
The Spiritually Vigorous Saint
. . . that I may know Him . . . —Philippians 3:10
A saint is not to take the initiative toward self-realization, but toward knowing Jesus Christ. A spiritually vigorous saint never believes that his circumstances simply happen at random, nor does he ever think of his life as being divided into the secular and the sacred. He sees every situation in which he finds himself as the means of obtaining a greater knowledge of Jesus Christ, and he has an attitude of unrestrained abandon and total surrender about him. The Holy Spirit is determined that we will have the realization of Jesus Christ in every area of our lives, and He will bring us back to the same point over and over again until we do. Self-realization only leads to the glorification of good works, whereas a saint of God glorifies Jesus Christ through his good works. Whatever we may be doing— even eating, drinking, or washing disciples’ feet— we have to take the initiative of realizing and recognizing Jesus Christ in it. Every phase of our life has its counterpart in the life of Jesus. Our Lord realized His relationship to the Father even in the most menial task. "Jesus, knowing . . . that He had come from God and was going to God, . . . took a towel . . . and began to wash the disciples’ feet . . ." ( John 13:3-5 ).
The aim of a spiritually vigorous saint is "that I may know Him . . ." Do I know Him where I am today? If not, I am failing Him. I am not here for self-realization, but to know Jesus Christ. In Christian work our initiative and motivation are too often simply the result of realizing that there is work to be done and that we must do it. Yet that is never the attitude of a spiritually vigorous saint. His aim is to achieve the realization of Jesus Christ in every set of circumstances.
--------
God really spoke to me through today's devotion. As a follower of Christ, have I really been going about my daily life with the right purpose and attitude? My studies, my committments in Sunday school, OCF, worship... it's so easy to find myself doing it because i have to, but by doing so, i have been pushing Christ away and not surrendering everything for His plans, not letting Him have the remote control to my life..
Over all the earth You reign on high
Every mountain stream, every sunset sky
But my one request, Lord my only aim
Is that You reign in me again
Lord reign in me, reign in Your power
Over all my dreams, in my darkest hour
You are the Lord of all I am
So won't You reign in me again
Over every thought, over every word
May my life reflect the beauty of my Lord
Cause You mean more to me than any earthly thing
So won't You reign in me again

when life throws fireballs at you, you can
a. scream and faint and die
b. procrastinate and complain about the fire and die
c. whack them, kick them, fan them, spit on them with all your might.. and still die
d. fire fight it with God's fire hose and supportive people
i always thought that i never had plans for my future, but unconsciously i do. and when life doesn't go as planned, i realise that 1) i actually had a plan, 2) now i need a new plan. of course there'll be the crying sobbing sniffing at the beginning until i realise that it's not the end of the world and there's many things that i should still give thanks for and rejoice over.
for a moment i felt like Job from the bible; having things "taken away" from me.. (i soon figured that he had it much much much much harder than me). life wasnt meant to be a walk in the park.. it's the challenges that make it exciting and give us opportunities to come to know that we are nothing without God. When life seems difficult, give thanks and rejoice!

sometimes i feel like a kindie kid on the first day of school
arms hugging mum's legs, hiding my face in her thigh
pulling her away from the school gate with all my might and just wanting to go home.
sometimes i feel like a loner/loser who's forgotten the skills to start n maintain conversations.
like the most boring person to ever step foot on earth
like im invisible or horribly minute
i cant remember how it was when i was loud crazy caring confident happy loving loved
i dont know how come D:
i look at the sea of faces, all familiar..
but yet somehow, so distant and foreign
i cant help but compare myself to those around
and wonder how they get along with people so easily
wonder how come i cant be like them
n y im so easily irritable
simple things seem to be getting more difficult.. maybe i have a degenerating brain.
and i've forgotten to let God sit on the throne of my life
